Online Self-Help Resources

There are a number of resources available online that allow you to monitor your mood and cope with anxiety amongst other things. These include computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools which can help you to challenge negative thoughts and emotions. There are even Apps available for smartphones.

A lot of these resources are available for free but some may require a membership fee or subscription service to access certain features.

  • Living Life To The Full - This website offers different step by step exercises with video tutorials and free membership.
  • Moodscope - Moodscope provides a system for monitoring and recording your daily activities and mood levels. The website offers a free 'Lite' version but requires a subscription for the fully functioning service.
  • Big White Wall - The Big White Wall has a step by step walkthrough to wellbeing and recovery. This includes mood tests and guides for healthy living. The service is available for free on the NHS depending on your location. If you have to pay - the subscription costs approximately £2 per week or less.
  • Helpguide.org - Helpguide helps you help yourself to better mental and emotional health by providing supportive ad-free tools for making better choices.
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Self-Help Resources - This website is a directory of CBT services available on the internet as well as other forms of self-help.
